Wine Saving Explained
Once a bottle of wine is opened, oxygen begins to interact with the wine. While a small amount helps release aroma, too much exposure causes oxidation. This is a natural process that can reduce the wine’s flavor, aroma, and freshness within just 24 hours.
The Vacu Vin system, consisting of a wine vacuum pump and a reusable stopper, is designed to slow down oxidation by removing excess air from the bottle. Instead of putting the cork or screw cap back on, insert the reusable stopper to create an airtight seal. Then place the wine vacuum pump on top and start pumping the air out of the bottle.
You will know you have reached the optimal vacuum level when you feel resistance while pumping. This indicates that most of the air has been removed and your wine is ready for storage. Please note: The Wine Saver Loop works without a clicking sound. Instead, you will feel resistance while pumping to indicate that the optimal vacuum level has been reached.
The stopper is essential. Without it, a vacuum cannot be created.
This simple process helps preserve the character and quality of the wine, so you can enjoy the rest of the bottle later with the same taste and enjoyment.
